The Enchanted ForestĀ | Ages 5 – 7 | FULL
INSTRUCTOR: ALISSA MILLER | Meet the Instructor
Come be a part of a fantastic world that is filled with fairies, goblins, frogs, princesses and other creatures! We will read fairytales, A Midsummer Night’s Dream and other forest fantasies. Campers will be inspired by the fun language and characters used in these stories and use them as a jumping off point for creative dramatics and improvised scenes.
Charting Art | Ages 5 – 7 | FULL
INSTRUCTOR: ANNALISA CAMPBELL | Meet the Instructor
Spend a week chartingĀ the course of your art explorations! Campers will explore the Laurie Frick exhibition. As we map out our daily adventures, we will respond in a mixture of styles and media. Patterns will creep onto the canvas of our imaginations then into weavings, collages, prints and a collaborative installation art on exhibit in the Oklahoma Contemporary gallery.
Acrylic Mix Up | Ages 8 – 10 | FULL
INSTRUCTOR: TBA | Meet the Instructor
Analyze, texturize and improvise! Use the scientific method to hypothesize and experiment with acrylic binders, thickeners and liquid pigments to make your own acrylic paint. Texturize your paintings with gels and mediums then use the rainbow to paint non-objectively.
Back in Time | Ages 8 – 10 | $150
INSTRUCTOR: CARRI DOLAN | Meet the Instructor
Starting with the Egyptians and Papyrus, the history of paper and bookmaking will be the focus of this camp. Campers will make a wide variety of papers and books influenced by the fiber artists of the past. Campers will pull sheets of paper and then use it to create a variety of books including accordion books, pop-up books, Japanese stab binding books and more.
Story Quilts | Ages 11 – 13 | FULL
INSTRUCTOR: JACKIE PURSELL NELSON | Meet the Instructor
Campers will begin by discussing characters from their favorite books, movies or video games. They will sketch a plan and create a paper pattern before using fabrics of their choice to create a quilt based on a favorite memory. Students may bring fabric they want to use in creating their quilts.
