Midnight Streak

The Midnight Streak is an annual, USATF-certified 5K run for the arts. More than 1,000 runners participated in 2012, including social runners as well as serious racers. Proceeds support Oklahoma Contemporary’s mission to encourage artistic expression in all its forms through education and exhibitions and help keep arts exhibitions in the Eleanor Kirkpatrick Gallery free to the public year-round.

Top Three Reasons to Be A Midnight Streak Runner or Sponsor
1. Support for a great OKC organization. Oklahoma Contemporary Art Center’s mission is to encourage artistic expression and instill appreciation for the arts in Oklahomans of all ages. Funds raised through Midnight Streak benefit our youth and adults arts education and keep our contemporary arts exhibits free to the public.
2. A unique racing experience. Midnight Streak beats the Oklahoma heat by starting at 11 p.m, long after the summer sun has set. The late night atmosphere is enhanced with live music and food and drink booths, and runners/guests are invited to participate in hands-on art activities and visit our featured exhibit. This year’s featured artist, Laurie Frick, has a special appeal to runners because her intricate works explore the intersection of technology and creativity built around her daily regimen of self-tracking her activities and body. 3. OKC’s best race t-shirts. We earned this title because we use Dri-Fit fabric for our Midnight Streak race t-shirts, rather than the traditional cotton. For sponsors, this means you will have your name on a t-shirt that gets used a lot!
